Do ra'man i a: an obsession with fur

Yet another furry page. Prolly not as good as some of the others you've seen, eh? Well, it's mine. *shrug* What is furry anyways? Short answer is anthropmorphic animals. But, well, here a few examples.

You could also read my little treatise on a special type of furry, that of toon furriness.

The premier site for furry art is FurNation has all sorts of examples of what furries are, ranging from toons to fully anthropmorphized animals.

Also of great interest is one of my favourite furry artists, Eric Schwartz. This web page has information on how to order his stuff, plus an online comic strip.

And speaking of online comic strips there is the great Kevin & Kell. Billed as being about "Online, Offline, and Everything In Between," this strip by "Safe Havens" creater Bill Holbrook manages not only one of the better representations of furries in the mainstream press and also one of the most realistic showings of Internet users. Even more of my favorite online strips can be found on my index page.

If you have any qustions about various aspects furry fandom, you can get them answered at PeterCats's FAQ page from alt.fan.furry. I orginated and used to maintain the Furry Discography, which has been now taken over by Michael Hansen. On a related note, there is an orginization, Furry Music Foundation formed for the promotion of furry musicians.

Converging on two interests of mine is Japanese anime and furridom is the Furry Anime List. Similarly, is the home page for the manga artist Trump. The page is mostly in Japanese, but there is enough English to check out the pictures and be sure to look at the links, such as DEN's Den or Ken Singshow. If you more want a little more info on the Japanese furry scene, here is a paper I wrote for a Japanese postwar history class. Also check out the some info on some of my favorite furry anime, Slayers Try and Hyper Police.

Since I'm in the Northwest, I support the local furry convention, ConiFur Northwest. Every year they have a really great selection of artists and activities, presented in a comfortable enviroment. I have had a chance to go every year, but I've really enjoyed the times I went.

Of course, there is also the literature. I have done a little stuff, ranging from a werewolf story I wrote in 1989 called "Who Is Like Unto The Beast?", long before I knew what a furry was to a poem I wrote a full year before I realized I was furry to a couple of stories I've written ancillary pieces for a series entitled Apprentice Inept, called Letters From Home, part 1 and part 2. I was also part of the Furry Lit Mailing List, where I wrote a piece called The Recital. A more recent piece I wrote about a more sci-fi approach to furries, called Splicers.

If you want to read stuff other than mine, try out the Furry Story Index It contains a copy of a large selection of stories availibe from alt.fan.furry and on Avatar. There is also a home page for a few furry net.novels by G. Howell.

If you are interested in all of this, you can show off your interests with the Fur Code.

If really need a much more comprehensive collection of links, check out Mongoose. This page has links to just about anything your furry heart desires ]:o}

Beyond that, furriness can't be explained, but certainly can be enjoyed!
